Trevor Hall
Musician
Trevor Hall recorded his first album at sixteen, growing up on the coast of South Carolina. He then moved to Idyllwild Arts Academy in California, where two things happened that would shape everything after: he studied classical guitar seriously, and he encountered the spiritual traditions of India. That combination — formal musicianship meeting devotional practice — runs through all of his work and sets him apart from most artists in the folk-reggae space, where spirituality often stays decorative.
His music sits at the intersection of roots reggae, folk, and kirtan, with electronic textures woven in. The themes are interior: love, impermanence, connection, the texture of a spiritual life actually being lived. The writing is personal enough that it has built a genuinely loyal following — nearly 400,000 on Spotify, sold-out tours — without relying on the mainstream currents of pop or the nostalgia circuits of legacy reggae.
His most recent record, *Trevor Hall and the Great In-Between*, extends his sonic range while staying in that reflective mode. His summer Monsoon Nights Tour is the clearest statement yet of where his relationship with India has taken him: for the first time, he's bringing Indian musicians onto the stage with him, acknowledging directly that the culture's teachings haven't just been an influence — they've been a decades-long conversation.
